Notes are too serious.
Start jotting.
A tiny jot pad that's always within reach.
For the things too small for a note but too important to lose.
Designed for jots, not documents
SlideJot is built for all the small, temporary things you don't quite know where to put — fleeting ideas, quotes, stray lines, snippets, links, drafts, ChatGPT prompts. It just gives you a blank space you can drop them into.
SlideJot editor close-up: no title field, no toolbar,
just a plain text area with a few lines of text
and an inline screenshot.
Just start typing into a blank page — no fields to slow you down.
No formatting toolbar, no rich text toys — definitely not a Markdown editor.
Write words, paste screenshots. That's it.
Saved as you type — close the panel anytime, nothing is lost.
Always within reach. Never in your way.
SlideJot sits at the edge of your screen like a small drawer. You pull it out, drop things in or take them out, then slide it back where it came from — same place every time, no surprises. It just feels right.
Frame 1: your main app filling the screen.
Frame 2: SlideJot sliding in from the right edge.
Frame 3: SlideJot hidden again, back to your app.
Pull SlideJot out with a quick key combo from anywhere on your Mac.
It slides in as a slim side panel over your current window, never taking over the whole screen.
Slide it back in and you're exactly where you were.
Summon it, jot, and tuck it away — all without lifting your hands from the keys.
Little moments, quickly captured
A few of the quick, temporary, slightly messy bits that SlideJot can catch for you.
When a line hits you
A line pops into your head out of nowhere — a tweet, a blog hook, a fleeting idea. Pull the drawer out, jot the sentence, slide it back in.
When a UI wows you
See a beautiful interface or onboarding flow you want to learn from? Grab a quick screenshot, drop it into SlideJot with a quick jot.

Frequently asked questions
If you have any other questions, please get in touch.
Is it cloud synced?
Not yet. SlideJot is local-first — your jots stay on your Mac.
Cloud sync may come later as an optional feature.
Will I lose my drafts?
SlideJot saves as you type, and also when you hide or quit the app.
If your Mac or SlideJot crashes, your jots will be there next time you open it.
Which macOS versions does SlideJot support?
SlideJot currently supports macOS 14.0 and later.
Does it work on multiple displays?
Yes. The drawer opens on whichever screen your cursor is on, always from the same edge.
Can I change the hotkey or panel side?
Yes. You can change the key combo in Settings → Shortcuts, and pick the left or right edge in Settings → General.
Does SlideJot support Markdown or rich text?
No. SlideJot is designed for plain text and images only, to keep things simple and distraction-free.
You can type Markdown if you like, but it isn't rendered — headings, lists, and emphasis stay exactly as you typed them. There's no formatting toolbar and no custom fonts or colors.
Can I paste images or screenshots?
Yes. You can paste or drag screenshots and images into a jot, and they stay attached to that jot alongside your text.
Where are my jots stored? Are they private?
Your data lives locally in your user Library folder (e.g. ~/Library/Application Support/SlideJot/).
SlideJot doesn't use a cloud backend and doesn't send your jots to any server.
How is SlideJot priced? Is there a trial?
SlideJot is a one-time purchase for macOS.
There's a 14-day full-feature trial period so you can see if it fits your workflow before buying.
Catch the little things without
leaving your flow.
Stay Draft. Stay Messy.
